The members' area is only available to PCC members. To gain access you will need a password. Members can register and obtain a password if they wish, so that they can read available material and watch progress.







This part of our site is under development; it will contain an archive of reference, historical and biographical material about paperweights and their makers. The contents will include:

  • An index of past issues of the PCC Newsletter, both chronological and by content;

  • Copies of PCC Newsletters; ( Issues 1 - 86 now available).

  • A list of books about paperweights;

  • Copies of articles and other items of interest published elsewhere by PCC members ;

  • An index of the hard copy material held by the PCC;

  • An index of the film and video clips held by the PCC;

  • Biographies of makers and examples of their work.

Members who wish to submit questions, post photos, or respond to other members' queries can do so within our Yahoo online discussion group.

Talks about paperweights and glassmaking

105 St Louis – Cambridge February 2009 – Bertrand Feuga talking about the history of St. Louis and a slide show of the weights they brought with them.
106 Steve Sugarman collection – a fascinating look at Steves collection of antique French weights and the talk he gave at the May 2009 Godstone meeting.

A day with a glassmaker

307 Vic Bamforth – really off–beat paperweights made using a modified Graal technique – we see Vic at the Red Cone making the initial blanks, cold painting them and then encasing them.
308 Mike Hunter – no paperweights but cane making, incalmo bowl, zanfirico vase, an air twist goblet and a Venetian tumbler also a slide show of his work.
309 Peter Holmes 2009 – two abstract weights, a lampwork weight, a Vasart tyle vaseand a slide show of 24 Paul Ysart paperweights from Pauls personal collection.
310 John Deacons – closepacks, cane pulling and finishing also Dave Moir making a lampwork weight.
311 Peter McDougall – Crown paperweight, three different techniques of cane pulling, finishing , a look at Peters cane collection and some of the old Monart moulds.
312 Willie Manson – Three lampwork weights.

Glassmaking abroad

605 Saint- Louis – making a Versailles vase and  coloured crystal goblets.
606 Scott Benefield – an American artist who works in the Venetian style without an assistant – watch his unique way of pulling Zanfirico canes single handed!
