Made in 1985, this blue "Pyrrhopyge Creon" butterfly is seen resting on delicate pear blossom.

As with all of Rick Ayotte's nature studies, the lampwork is extremely detailed and true to life. Note the fine shading of the pear tree twigs and how each blossom is formed differently.
