This is an interesting modern version of the classic "Snake Weight" of the 19th century.

Here, we have a coiled green snake with white spots set in the centre of of carpet of red and white floret canes. The small size of the snake and the close setting of the concentric rows of canes produces a design which, through the top facet, and at a distance, appears to be simply a two-tone concentric.

The magnification of the outer row of canes between the facets adds a wonderful sparkle to this colourful weight.
