Caithness - Insect
|
This 1995 design by Allan Scott shows a dragonfly over a white flower. There is a very pale blue ground to this weight and this is seen rising in the back parts of the glass. It is also noticeable at the base of the white flower, between the green leaves. The yellow centre of the flower and the pink stripes in the petals provide a striking background against the royal blue of the dragonfly's realistically segmented body. The very fine, dark lace-like wings of the insect are formed from shaped and flattened filigree-style twists. |
