Although this weight appears to be rather low-quality, it is, nevertheless a very important and interesting item.

The canes are generally regarded as Vasart (see also the similar canes in the Spaced Millefiori Ref 01). However, the specific attribution to Salvador Ysart is likely to be correct since the form is obviously that of a "Mushroom Weight" - which takes great skill to achieve.

Note also that there is a Torsade just visible at the base of the weight. This is a regular feature of Antique French Mushroom Weights and so the style is being closely followed. The colours of the Torsade twist are very similar to those used in the neck and bowl portions of known Vasart / early Monart Bottles.

Size is 3 5/8 inch diameter, 2 1/4 inch height.
