WHAT MEMBERSHIP OFFERS YOU

Membership of the Paperweight Collectors Circle offers the following:

The Newsletter. 3 issues per year of our full colour, professional quality Newsletter delivered to your home. The Newsletter is A4 size, contains 16 to 20 pages, and includes articles about paperweights, paperweight makers, and paperweight collectors.

Meetings. The opportunity to attend at least 5 meetings per year in the UK. These are held in various locations, and usually include 2 in Cambridge (including the AGM); 1 or more at Godstone in the South East; 1 in the South West; and 1 in the North Midlands. Our meetings are friendly and sociable events, where you can meet fellow collectors and hopefully learn more about paperweights. At each meeting we have a talk from one of our collectors, makers or other experts in related fields. There are also paperweight dealers present, so you will be able to see, discuss and handle hundreds of paperweights - and maybe buy one or two!

Trips. Specially organised trips to places of interest to paperweight collectors. These take place approximately every two or three years. In 2003 a group went to Venice, and in 2004 we visited Poland (parts of Bohemia and Silesia). In 2007 we went to France, Belgium and Germany(including visits to Baccarat, St Louis and Val St Lambert, and a garden party in Cologne hosted by local PCC members). We have been pleased to welcome both European and American members on our trips. The next trip will be in 2009 to Bavaria.

Exhibitions. We organise public exhibitions, normally once a year in conjunction with Broadfield House Glass Museum in Dudley. In 2005 we also held a 25th Anniversary exhibition at London Olympia.

Social events. A summer Garden Party, hosted by PCC members, where you can meet fellow collectors and see the private collection of whoever has volunteered to be the host that year, and in some years, a Christmas Meal and party.

Access to expertise and archives. As a member you can join our Yahoo group, where you can post images and questions - and maybe help answer some queries too! We are in the process of building an archive of paperweight related articles, information, video clips, books and so on.  Where possible this material will be made available in the members only area of this website.
